About Me I have worked for more than 50 years in Mexico, collaborating with peasant and indigenous communities involved in forging varieties of post-capitalist societies on the margins of the global systems. Together with colleagues, we are developing a field of “Radical Ecological Economics” that directly addresses the relationships of society to the planet, shaped by cosmovisions of indigenous peoples around the world (examples: Buen vivir or good living from the Andes; Swaraj from India; Ubuntu from Southern Africa, and Mandar Obeciendo of the Zapatistas in Mexico). The International Society for Ecological Economics awarded me the Kenneth Boulding Prize in 2023.
