About Me

Edwin López is an economist with a master’s degree in economics from the National University of Colombia and a master’s degree in history from the University of California, San Diego, where he is currently pursuing his doctoral studies. He served as a researcher at the Centro de Investigaciones para el Desarrollo (CID) of the National University and as a professor at the same university in the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the Faculty of Economic Sciences. He has also been a professor at the Department of Economics at the Javeriana University in Bogotá. He is the author of several articles and book chapters on local commerce, public finances, and economic growth in Colombia in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. He is currently a professor at the Department of Economics, Trade and Social Policy of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University.
